Position Summary

The AmishView Inn & Suites Laundry Attendant Lead is responsible for leading the team that is responsible for laundering, handling and processing all linen. The Laundry Attendant Lead is responsible for keeping track of laundry room supplies and supporting Housekeeping operations ensuring superior service to all guests of the Hotel. The Laundry Attendant Lead will conform to all Housekeeping department standards. The Laundry Attendant Lead is responsible for overseeing of daily laundry operations including supervising personal in the laundry room. This job posting qualifies for a $500 sign-on bonus, $100 after 30 days completed; $150 after 60 days completed and $250 after six months.  Join our award winning team at Lancaster's #1 hotel.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Reports directly to Housekeeping Operations Manager & Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • Leads by example and exhibits behavior and attitude in accordance with AmishView Inn Core Purpose and Core Values.
  • Conducts him/herself in a professional manner, including but not limited to:
    • Arriving on time for scheduled shifts in proper uniform with nametag
    • Displaying proper hygiene
    • Conducting him/herself in a courteous and respectful manner when dealing with guests, co-workers, and management
  • Responsible for managing the laundry team and daily workflow for maximum production.
  • Supervises and trains new laundry staff members as they are brought on to the team or existing team members when additional training is necessary.
  • Responsible to help diffuse any conflict that may arise, alerting management if necessary.
  • Responsible for the processing of all linens.
  • Responsible for the quality, consistency and presentation of all linen that leaves the laundry room.
  • Inspects linens for quality and identifies any damages, promptly reports damages to Housekeeping Operations Manager.
  • Sorts soiled bed linen, towels, bathrobes, etc…
  • Administers special cleaning chemicals to items needing extra care.
  • Loads washing machines and dryers, following provided guidelines regarding weight and number of pieces, to ensure optimal operation of equipment.
  • Operates commercial-grade washing machines and dryers, following precise instruction provided by management.
  • Folds bed linen, towels, bathrobes, etc… to precise specifications provided by management.
  • Stocks and directs the stocking of shelves throughout hotel with clean product.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly working environment to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Adheres to departmental and company policies and procedures.
  • Practice safe work habits; follow MSDS and OSHA standards as set forth by management.
  • Constantly monitors the laundry equipment for any issues that may arise.
  • Reports any maintenance, damaged product, or guest service issues to management immediately.
  • Completes a full linen inventory 4 times a year as directed by the Housekeeping Operations Manager.
  • Monitors the hotel linen needs and alerts management if we need to place and order between inventory periods.
  • Promotes positive guest, employee and public relations at all times.
  • Provides friendly, efficient service to guests.
  • Capable of bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and lifting at least 30 pounds.
  • Capable of standing for up to 8 hours.
  • Capable of working independently and maintaining an efficient pace.
  • Participates in team meetings and provide feedback to management.
  • Attends and participates in team trainings when conducted by management.
  • Assists other team members as needed.
  • Assists with other housekeeping functions, projects and tasks as needed.
  • Inspects guest rooms as needed.
  • Runs housekeeping department when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as requested by management.


Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Previous leadership experience in hospitality preferred
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to interact with guests, all levels of management and employees
  • Able to follow and give directions and communicate with both guests and coworkers effectively
  • Display a positive and professional attitude at all times

  • Capable of working independently and maintaining an efficient pace.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be regularly required to perform physical activity that includes moving about the work area, standing, sitting, bending, reaching with hands and arms, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing and smelling. The team member will be frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. He or she is required to have the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned. The team member will be required to lift, push, pull, lower and/or move up to 10 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
